Meet the Founder

Hi, I’m Billie — Founder of Sleek Locks.

As a singer, my hair and overall look gave me the confidence to perform — it was my Lion’s Mane! Having always worn extensions of every kind — weaves, bonds, tapes, you name it — I eventually discovered the freedom of wigs, which allowed me to change up my image and style at a whim. And let me tell you, I fell in love!

The only problem? I could never find wigs that lasted more than a few wears. That challenge became my inspiration. I began working closely with manufacturers until I found the perfect solution — and that’s when Sleek Locks was born.

My wigs are designed to last — with proper care, some have been known to hold up for over three years — all while withstanding heat, weather, styling, and even the demands of live performances. From there, I expanded into creating a line of luxury hair products, crafted to protect and care for these beauties, something I’m incredibly proud of.

What started as a side hustle soon revealed itself as my destiny. But the story doesn’t end there. What began in glamour and showbiz has grown into something far deeper — a mission to support those experiencing hair loss with care, dignity, and compassion. This part of my journey was inspired by my late niece, Gracie Mays, whose spirit continues to guide my work.

My passion became my purpose.
And if you’d like to know more about my story, I’ve shared it here with you — straight from the heart. ❤️

Sleek Locks is where glamour meets heart.

The Dream That Sparked a Vision

The Foundation (2022–2024)

Sleek Locks was not built on a whim.
It was born from a vivid dream, lived experience, and over 20 years spent under the spotlight.

As a singer and performer, I learned early on that hair is more than an accessory — it’s ARMOUR On stage, your hair must withstand heat, sweat, friction, movement, and pressure. When it fails, confidence follows. That understanding became the foundation of Sleek Locks.

I spent months sourcing wigs and developing a dedicated haircare range that could pass what I called The Stage Test”. If it couldn’t survive a two-hour performance, it wasn’t Sleek Locks. What began as a passion project quickly evolved into a brand rooted in performance, quality, and confidence.

Over time, Sleek Locks expanded into perfumes, jewellery, and home fragrance — always centred around self-expression, empowerment, and how beauty makes us feel.

At first, I focused on the glamour side of the brand. I knew that stepping into the specialised and deeply emotional world of hair loss required time, care, and emotional capacity — things I couldn’t yet give while working in a demanding corporate role.

The Pause That Changed Everything

Like many people, I allowed a high-pressure career to take over. I put my vision aside and chased stability, success, and titles — choosing wealth over health, and slowly losing myself in the process.

During this time, my life changed forever.

My four-year-old niece, Gracie, was diagnosed with liver cancer.

The Turning Point: For Gracie

Life has a way of putting everything into perspective.

During Gracie’s illness, we watched helplessly as she fought the hardest battle no child should ever face. It was a living nightmare. She fought with courage far beyond her years.

I watched her lose her hair — and with it, some of her confidence. She became aware of the looks from others. She felt exposed and uncomfortable, something no child should ever experience.

Gracie was measured for a wig she was incredibly excited about. She couldn’t wait to wear it.
It never arrived in time.

Gracie passed away before she could receive it.

That moment never left me.

Losing her was the most devastating experience of my life — a different kind of grief, a loss that changed me forever. I pushed forward, using work and responsibility as distraction, until my body and mind could no longer cope.

A complete mental and physical collapse forced me to stop.
I didn’t recognise myself.

It was a wake-up call I could no longer ignore.

Choosing Health. Choosing Purpose.

In the stillness that followed came reflection, healing, and clarity.

I realised I could no longer ignore the dream that started all of this. Suddenly, it all made sense — the years spent building confidence through beauty, and Gracie’s story.

And then it hit me.

The time is now.

I could no longer chase a corporate title at the cost of my health and happiness. Instead, I chose purpose. I chose meaning. I chose to honour both my passion and Gracie’s legacy.

So I stepped away from a life that looked successful on the outside but felt empty within — and returned to work that felt meaningful, healing, and true.

Sleek Locks Today: Our Commitment

Sleek Locks is entering a new chapter — one rooted in integrity, care, and confidence.

Today, we offer a curated range of wigs, extensions, and luxury hair care designed to support self-expression, confidence, and the freedom to Unleash Your Alter Ego.

As I grow, I am actively training and gaining hands-on experience to develop a specialised service for medical hair loss and oncology patients — adults and children. This service will only be offered once I am fully qualified, confident, and able to provide the standard of care every client deserves.

My vision is to create a quiet, private sanctuary — a therapeutic space away from busy salons — where clients are supported one-to-one with comfort, compassion, and dignity. A place for gentle installation, calming treatments, and care-led service, not noise or pressure.

My long-term goal is to secure funding so that no child ever has to wait for the hair they deserve — honouring Gracie’s memory through meaningful action.

This is more than a business.
It is a promise — to lead with care, to do this properly, and to put people before profit.
